Health and Safety

The personal health and safety of all workers is of primary importance to Lorac Construction Ltd.  Lorac Construction is committed to preventing occupationally induced injuries and illnesses of any nature, and protecting both people and property.

Lorac Construction is proud to maintain a formal health and safety program in accordance with best practices and industry standards, and in compliance with legislative requirements. We maintain our Certificate of Recognition (COR) from the Alberta Construction Safety Association through the cooperative effort, shared responsibility and active involvement of all workers (management, supervisors, workers, subcontractors and suppliers), while striving to eliminate any foreseeable health and/or safety hazards which may result in property damage, incidents or personal injury/illness.

Our full time Health and Safety Coordinator oversees all aspects of our comprehensive program, and we consistently measure and improve our safety performance, striving to meet our goal of zero incidents and accidents. In the event of an injury, employees take part in Lorac’s modified work program to ensure their early return to active duties.

Lorac Construction’s staff receive extensive on-going education and training. Areas of training and certification completed by Lorac staff include training for specific equipment and tasks, in addition to safety certification and training, including Leadership for Health and Safety Excellence, Prime Contractor certification, First Aid, and specialized project specific training. As a result of Lorac Construction’s adherence to high safety standards, Lorac has never received health, safety or environment related regulatory warnings, stop-work orders or citations.
